Description: SK-MEL-5 cell line was derived from human metastatic Skin Melanoma in axillary lymph node, in a 24 years old Caucasian female. It often served as the model for melanoma-specific drugs and antibody development. SK-MEL-5/firefly luciferase stable cells express firefly luciferase.

Stability: Stable in culture over a minimum of 10 passages
Application: Drug screening, biological assays and in vivo study
Freezing Medium: 70% EMEM +20% FBS+10% DMSO
Propagation Medium: EMEM +10%FBS

Subculture: Split saturated culture 1:3-1:6 every 3 days
Incubation: 37 °C with 5% CO2

Doubling Time: Approximately 30 hours
